Admission to undergraduate studies
UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES IN SCENE ARCHITECTURE, TECHNIQUE AND DESIGN
The Scene Architecture, Technique and Design study program offers a distinctive blend of engineering and art, technology and design, architecture, and production. It is intended for graduates of general secondary schools, art schools, technical schools, and other vocational schools who are interested in scene architecture, art, technology, and producing scene events, as well as for professionals seeking academic education in the field. Upon completing the four-year undergraduate program, students obtain the academic title Bachelor of Engineering in Scene Architecture, Technique and Design and may continue their education through either engineering-oriented or art-oriented master’s studies. Scene Design studies are structured around two main subject areas: Theatre Architecture and Technologies and Scene Design and Technology, with practice and theory equally represented across both. Courses focused on architecture address the conceptualization and design of spaces and structures for scene events, as well as scene technology and technical systems. Design-oriented courses focus on scenography, costume design, visual expression across different media, and technical production. Students are encouraged to develop independently and at their own pace, discovering which areas of scene architecture and design interest them most.
The knowledge and experience acquired during the studies can be applied professionally in the fields of architectural design of scene spaces; scenography and costume design for theatre, film, and music videos alike; live event creation (concerts, conferences, fashion shows, etc.) and technical production; cultural management; and related fields. After graduation, students have access to a broad range of professional opportunities. Although the degree is an engineering degree, the creative processes and artistic subjects undertaken during the program also enable graduates to work in design, creative development, and technical production. Our graduates work in architectural studios, cultural institutions and independent cultural organizations, theatre, the film and music industries, the entertainment industry, corporations, marketing agencies, and other professional environments.
